Tarot: The Star
Astrology: Neptune in Aquarius
On December the 21st the Sun travels its the shortest path through the sky resulting in a day with the least sunlight. The Winter Solstice, or the longest night of the year and the month around it is the most difficult time of a year both mentally and physically. Our bodies are deprived of sunlight, vitamins and warmth, our minds turn inwards and face the subconscious, gratitude and joy of bright summer and colourful autumn fade, slowly the scarcity mindset takes over, survival mode, an instinct we inherited from our ancestors, who dreaded winter and braced themselves to prepare food and shelter to endure the hostile season. Our spirit fire hibernates, it is easy to lose hope.
I created this talisman with Australian Milky Opal as vitamin shot for ones psyche. Since I started working with opals, I immediately connected them with ethereal light, creativity, hope and Neptunic ocean of possibilities. Let it be a universe within, a starlight that shines brightest when the circumstances are the darkest, a reminder to never lose hope.
I recommend this piece for particularly sensitive and emotional individuals who are easily swayed into seasonal depression and melancholia.
